Orthostatic Tremor

Diagnosis:

Clinical plus neurophysiology

Clinical:

Tremor in the legs upon standing. Sometimes also involves the hands

EMG:

Rhythmic discharges
High frequency discharges: 16-18 Hz

Treatment:

1st line:

  • Clonazepam

2nd line:

  • Propranolol, primidone, Gabapentin GBP, phenobarbitone
