Clinical features:

Ophthalmoplegia, nystagmus, ataxia, diplopia and ptosis
Complex partial seizures with status epilepticus.
Thiamine-responsive

Genetics:

Thiamine-Transporter Gene

Findings on Investigations:

MRI:

  • High-intensity signals in the bilateral medial thalamus

Laboratory:

  • Thiamine levels: normal

Treatment:

Thiamine
